9th Q: Plans for your parents when they are physically or mentally incapable of self-care?

I'm happy to have my parents and parents-in-law, but I'm afraid that they are getting older. Aging is likely to rob them of their normal lives.

My father-in-law is 84 years old, my mohter-in-law is 75 years old, my father is 77 years old, and my mother is 73 years old.

And my mother is living in a nursing home, because she can no longer walk after the second heart attack. When I made the decision to replace her there, I felt the tremendous sense of guilt and sadness. But I have no choice except visiting her every weekend.

This weekend I visited my parents-in-law. I felt sorry for not having done many things for them. My father-in-law has a severe asthma, so he has problems eating or drinking due to shortness of breath.

Do you have any special plans for your old parents when they are physically or mentally incapable of self-care?

8th Q: Have you ever called the police? Why?

Yes, I have. In the early summer of 2001, I awoke around 2 a.m. I felt someone watching me. At first I couldn't see anyone in my bedroom, but I was shocked to see a man roaming around my living room. I locked the bedroom door quickly, and called the police. Luckily, the police officer came to my apartment in about 5 minutes.

The man turned out to be one of my neighbors. My apartment number was 606, and his was 603. After he got drunk, he took the wrong entrance. I happened not to lock the front door that night. From that night, I have always made a double check to lock windows and doors before I go to bed.

Is There a Local Festival in Your City?

Yesterday my family and I went to Kwangju to see my sister-in-law's sister's wedding ceremony. On the way home we went to Hampyong, where a local festival is being held. There are so many butterfly and insects. My sons really enjoyed it. They wished they could stay longer, but we couldn't. I promised them to bring them to another festivals.

Could you recommend any interesting festivals you've experienced?
Iksan holds a cherry blossom festival in spring and a a chrysanthemum festival in fall.
If you visit Iksan during the festivals, you can get a discount on some jewelry.

6th Question

Hi, everyone.

Did you enjoy your weekend? Actually I couldn't.
As soon as I arrived home, I had to do so many house chores.
I felt tired on the night of April 12, but the next day I did what was left behind.
Finally, I went to ER to get a shot and a prescription Sunday morning.

I feel a big burden in doing house chores.
How do you share your house chores with your partner?

My husband doesn't like to do any when I am at home.
Usually I take the most parts; cooking, cleaning, vacuuming doing the laundry and so on.
I understand that he is too busy, but I sometimes feel like it's unfair.

5th Question

Hello!
I'm so happy to be back to K.N.U.E., except that I didn't finish an outlining for Reggie's composition class. It is hard for me to think critically and make a rough outline.
At school, I didn't give much homework to my students.
I know they already have many kinds of homework.
And most of them come home very late, even after midnight.
They don't have enough sleep.
That's the reason I don't give them much homework.

I have enough time, and I can't finish my homework in time, though.

When you teach at school, how often do you give homework?
And how much time are the students expected to spend on their homework?

4th Question

This Sunday morning I went to my school. Surprisingly, an old building was torn down. I loved its red walls covered with green ivies. My school was founded in 1924, so it has many old buildings, some of which are more than 50 years old. But I expected that we could find another way to renovate them instead of destroying all of them.

Do you have any examples that old buildings were remodeled into new ones?
I really hope that my school's old buildings will survive the redevelopment trend

3rd Question

Where do you think is the most impressive place that you've been to with your family?

My husband and I don't like to travel.

We prefer to stay inside, but my sons love to go to somewhere else.

People say that there isn't much time to be with children.

If they grow up, they don't like to be with their parents.

I'd like to travel a lot with my sons, when they are young and I am not too old.

G'Day! I need your help.

Hi, my classmates!
After that happy weekend, I found that Walter's 2nd homework is due on March 28th.
According to his direction, we can do our homework in a pair.
Is there anyone who want to join me?
Honestly, I'm a slow learner.
I feel comfortable when I can work in a small group.

By the way, what did you do last weekend?

I did many chores, and visited my father-in-law who is in hospital now.
He seems to have felt lonely, because his wife is also in hospital, his son is always busy, and his grandsons go to school. He is usually home alone during day.
He complains a lot, but he doesn't have any serious health problem, even though he is 84 years old. I guess he needs more attention from other family members.
Except that, I was very happy that I could do something for my sons.
